Requests inviting to bid to consult, contract and supply to Zendai Development SA is a scam
It has been brought to our attention that certain unscrupulous elements are sending out false emails purporting to be from “Zendai” requesting bids to consult, contract and supply to the Modderfontein New City project.
The email asks interested parties to buy bid documents for a non-refundable fee of ZAR5000 to be considered for evaluation. While the letter does not provide specific details of the bank account, it provides the name of one Helen Frans as a contact person. We would like to confirm that Zendai Development South Africa has no person called Helen Frans in its employ.
The emails are falsely stated to be from Zendai. Please be advised that Zendai Development South Africa (ZDSA) has not sent out any such emails or request for proposals. ZDSA bears no responsibility for amounts being deposited or any further engagements as a follow up to the email.
We advise you not to respond to any fraudulent emails and to make any such payments. We also strongly advise that you do not open the email as it might contain malware.
A US$8billion new city project has been unveiled for Modderfontein east of Johannesburg by a Chinese company, Shanghai Zendai.
Zendai’s vision for the Modderfontein New City is to re-energise this growth node by creating sustainable developments which offer an ideal environment for business, industry and communities to prosper and grow.
Zendai Group’s vision is to create unique landmarks and in so doing transform Modderfontein into an international cosmopolitan asset with cultural and art elements. Investment of an estimated R 84 billion (over the next 15 to 20 years) will see Zendai’s vision realised.
